I have a strange fascination with aliens. I asked myself,
"What would be a weird thing for an alien to abduct?" A whale. Yes, a whale.

I've always loved the way this incredibly tall animal gets water.
I had a lot of fun with this wood block print technique.

The Three Billy Goats Gruff

I don't blame these goats one bit for crossing the bridge. There ain't nothin to eat on their side!
This is gouache again and man, it's fun.

Roan Inish

My friend gouache and I have recently been having some fun together. I think I'm going to start doing this kind of thing a bit more.

Redwall

This was an endeavor to use a bit more Photoshop and a smidge less Illustrator than I usually do. I think it helped me with light and shadow quite a bit. I tried to sum up the whole story of Redwall in one image.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

For each character I framed them with a storytelling element that foreshadows their eventual fate.

Creole Cowboys

Seeing as the perimeters of this project were...how shall we say...non illustrative; I took some liberties with the photograph. Yee haw!

Poor Again-Yikes!

This was a fun challenge. I was given work day to complete a poster. I think it came out great. I love the gritty look of pencil with the bright comedic colors.

World Poverty

This is a design I developed for a University Forum on World Poverty. It took a few revisions for me to make it less cute. I guess there isn't really anything cute about World Poverty.

Trophy Shop!

Here is the final product! Look at all these critters trying to get the girls. I can't help but believe that playing in a band is an animal courting ritual!

Trophy Shop 1

Here is some album artwork I've been working on for a band called The Trophy Shop. The theme is animal courting rituals and there are hidden faces and objects throughout. This is just 3 of 6 panels so stay tuned!

Stretch's New Logo

Stretch has undergone some nips and tucks and now he's looking more studly than ever.

The World's FASTEST Animals

Man these animals are fast.

She Flew the Coop

I created this illustration and poem for my father as a tribute to my Grandma Virginia Beynon who passed away this year. I miss her a lot, but I'm so happy she is with her husband and daughter now, outside the confines of this coop we all live in.

Hey nice name Matt Carter!

I guess page layout design is art too.
(P.S.- Matt Carter designed the typeface I'm typing with right now!)
